Burlington, NJ is bracing itself for three days of back-to-back music kicking off this Thursday evening and running till the late hours of Saturday, courtesy of the only festival we know to be more than a mouthful – The Burlington Jazz, Blues & Heritage Festival.
Ah summer. There’s nothing better than being out and about on these warm and leisurely nights. If you feel the same way, then the Red, White and Blues: Jazz & Blues from the Garden State concert series is definitely for you.

This weekend marked the 21st anniversary of the Michael Arnone Crawfish Fest at the Sussex County Fairgrounds in Augusta, NJ. The three-day extravaganza featured the very best in music and food that Louisiana has to offer. Naturally, we here at Jazzville NJ had to check it out for ourselves, all for the sake of accurate reporting of course (wink, wink).
The Jazzville crew had a great time living out their inner “Sideways” fantasies this past weekend at the Blues & Wine Festival that was held at Natirar State Park. After all, what could be better than sampling more than 200 fine NJ wines from 23 local wineries, all while swaying to live blues?
Our goal here at Jazzville, NJ is to keep you informed about the local Jazz, Blues & Tap scenes. To that end, we’re introducing a new feature on the site: a comprehensive calendar of Jazz, Blues & Tap events all over New Jersey.
If there’s one thing I like as much as local NJ Jazz, it’s local NJ wine. The Garden State Wine Growers Association’s upcoming Blues & Wine Festival is the perfect place to get my fill of both.
This year it’s taking place the weekend of May 29th and 30th, with a rain date on the 31st.
Mark your calendars. The first weekend in June is going to be jam-packed with musical goodness:
- Friday, June 4th and Saturday, June 5th marks the New Jersey Jazz Society’s 35th annual Jazzfest
- Friday, Saturday and Sunday, June 4th through 6th is Michael Arnone’s 21st annual “Blues Flavored” Crawfish Fest
Only for good music will I brave the unrelenting cold that’s been pounding the tri-state as of late. As I sit here with the first signs of an oncoming cold, I will admit the trip to The Crossroads in Garwood, NJ, this past Sunday night to see The Full Metal Blues Band was worth the sniffles and scratchy throat I am now experiencing.
