The Tia Fuller Quartet

Our view of The Tia Fuller Quartet at Makeda's on Thursday night!

The Jazzville crew wishes all of you a very Merry Christmas! We hope Santa was good to you this year, but then again, why wouldn’t he be? You cats are awesome!

We were lucky enough to get an early present from Old Saint Nick this past Thursday, December 23rd in the form of The Tia Fuller Quartet. They jammed for a pretty big crowd at Makedas, an Ethiopian restaurant in New Brunswick. Nothing was more inviting than the smooth and ubercool melodies of four insanely talented musicians beckoning us inside from the freezing temps we’ve been experiencing lately.

Drummer Rudy Royston’s beats were off the charts. The bass and keyboard playing were just plain COOL. Tia’s personality and sax playing were absolutely magnetic! The tunes were infectious – you couldn’t sit still for a minute!

Can you tell we had a good time? A special thanks goes out to The New Brunswick Jazz Project for hosting this fantastic event. They work hard year round to bring great live jazz to central New Jersey. Take a look at their site and plan on attending one of their events. They are held in great restaurants, so your music is complemented by terrific cuisine.

And just in case this is my last post for the year, just wanted to say Happy Holidays and Happy New Year to you all! See you in 2011!
